So heres the second installment.. coming after some time, and I ask myself what has changed.... well a lot, although the answer to the question still remains six times seven.........
Since Im pretending to study at a "Leading Business school in India" (wow! that sounds nice!!!)... ill share my 10 most important learning from B-school life so far............ in no particular order
1. People can be cut throat:- Not that I didnt know it... but never realized that people can be "cut-throat" cut-throat... I am not one.. but for how long?
2. All the good girls in a B-school are taken even before they come here:- All the about to be cupid struck nerds can still keep dreaming, for love does happen, but most often when a girl approaches a guy and bats her eye-lids, she is most probably thinking "How much can I possibly get the most benefit out of this idiot".
3. 24 hours a day is too little: - doesnt leave time for eatouts, booze parties, nightouts doing nothing..... the list is endless :(
4. The most efficient way to spend time in a lecture is to sleep through it:- understood best once the starry eyed kid makes it to the B-school........
5. There is such a thing as good global and a bad global:- going from bad to good requires a great deal of practice and an even greater measure of shamelessness.
6. B-school is a glorified placement centre:- simply because the students make it so, and I frankly dont understand why do people get so worked up about it...
7. The only thing you learn in a b-school is to manage time, and how to stay awake thru the night and act alert in class the next day..........
8. Most of the extradordinary stuff that people said they did is usually blown out of proportion.... and most of the extraordinary stuff people do barely gets a mention....
9. Life is cruel.........
10. And finally its a strange world... you quit a job, spend the next two years doing "effectively" nothing after paying some one some 10+ lakh rupees....... and still there is some one out there who is ready to recruit you again for more than what you paid............
